DeeOne slams Davido following the singer’s absence from the wedding ceremony of music executive Soso Soberekon, a development that has sparked conversations across social media.
The comedian and former BBNaija housemate questioned why Davido neither attended the high-profile ceremony nor publicly congratulated the groom, despite what he described as Soso Soberekon’s longstanding support for the singer’s career.

DeeOne questions Davido’s absence
Speaking in a video that has since gone viral online, DeeOne expressed disappointment over Davido’s decision to stay away from the event.
According to him, Soso Soberekon deserved far more recognition from the singer considering their history in the entertainment industry.
He argued that if Davido was genuinely unavailable, he could have sent someone from his team to represent him or at least shared a congratulatory message on social media.
“With everything Soso Soberekon has done for Davido over the years, I expected him to honour that relationship. Even if he couldn’t attend, sending someone or publicly celebrating the couple would have shown respect.”
The wedding, held in Warri, Delta State, attracted several celebrities, business figures and notable personalities, making it one of the most talked-about entertainment events of the week.
Comedian makes fresh allegations against the singer
Beyond questioning Davido’s absence, DeeOne slams Davido with further allegations about the singer’s attitude toward successful colleagues.
The comedian claimed Davido is comfortable celebrating people only when they do not outshine him professionally. He also alleged that Soso Soberekon was instrumental in helping the singer secure opportunities during the early stages of his music career.
According to DeeOne, Davido should have prioritised attending the wedding because of that relationship.
“He likes people to succeed, but not beyond him. That wedding was already successful with influential guests and private jets everywhere. He needs to change that mindset and appreciate those who stood by him.”
He also referenced Davido’s past relationship with fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid while making his argument, suggesting that rivalry had affected their connection over time.
The comments have generated mixed reactions online, with fans divided over whether public figures should be criticised for missing private events.
