Sanwo-Olu Gives LASU Best Graduates ₦20m Each
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has awarded ₦20 million each to the two overall best graduating students of Lagos State University (LASU).
Sanwo-Olu announced the cash rewards on Wednesday during the grand finale of LASU’s 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo.
LASU Best Graduating Students Receive ₦20m Each
The two students emerged as the overall best graduates for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.
For the 2024/2025 session, Ayilara Olawale of the Department of Project Management Technology emerged as the best graduating student.
Olawale recorded a CGPA of 4.96 and graduated with First Class Honours.
For the 2025/2026 academic session, Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide of the Department of Aerospace Engineering emerged as the overall best graduating student.
He finished with a CGPA of 4.97, also graduating with First Class Honours.
Sanwo-Olu Recognises Academic Excellence
Sanwo-Olu said the ₦20 million reward was given to recognise the students’ academic excellence, diligence and commitment.

The governor said their achievements showed the importance of hard work and dedication to education.
The gesture was welcomed by students, parents and LASU alumni. They described the reward as an incentive for academic excellence and a sign of the Lagos State Government’s continued support for education.
Over 20,000 Students Graduate From LASU
A total of 20,604 students graduated from LASU across the two academic sessions.
Among them were 375 graduands who received Doctorate degrees during the combined convocation ceremonies.
The latest awards add to the recognition given to LASU students for outstanding academic performance as the university continues to celebrate its graduates.
