$2.1m Land Deal: Claimants Petition EFCC Over Wike’s Son
Two claimants have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged involvement of Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, in a disputed $2.1 million land transaction.
The petition was reportedly filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited. Through their lawyers, the claimants accused Jordan of alleged fraud, obtaining money under false pretences, criminal misappropriation and conversion.
However, the allegations remain disputed, and Jordan has denied wrongdoing.
According to a report by Vanguard on October 20, 2026, the claimants’ lawyer, Ibrahim Waru, said the EFCC had acknowledged receipt of the petition but had yet to take action.
Waru explained that the petition was intended to prompt a criminal investigation, separate from the civil case already before the FCT High Court.
Claimants Outline Alleged $2.1m Transaction
The petition alleges that the claimants met Jordan in London, where they developed a relationship before meeting again in Nigeria.
According to the petition, Jordan allegedly offered to facilitate the allocation of land within the FCT, claiming he could help secure two plots of 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape.
The claimants further alleged that Jordan represented that he had his father’s knowledge and approval for the proposed arrangement. The petition also claimed that he placed a telephone call to the FCT minister in the presence of one of the claimants.
The lawyers alleged that $2 million was paid as a fee purportedly intended to facilitate the land allocations, while an additional $100,000 was allegedly paid as a personal facilitation fee.
The petition stated that the payments were made in cash on September 26, 2025, at a residence in Gwarinpa, Abuja, in the presence of witnesses.
The claimants further alleged that Jordan promised to deliver the land allocations within one month but failed to do so. They claimed that subsequent efforts to contact him were unsuccessful.
The allegations are contained in the petition and have not been established by a court.
Jordan Denies Allegations in Court
The dispute is also the subject of a civil suit before the FCT High Court, where Justice Silvanus Oriji is handling the matter.
Jordan has denied the allegations, arguing that he was outside Nigeria on the date the claimants said the money was handed over.

According to the report, he presented his international passport to the court in support of his position. He reportedly said he had travelled abroad using his American passport during the period in question.
The court adjourned the case until December 1, 2026, for continuation of hearing.
Claimants Seek Judge’s Removal
The claimants have also reportedly petitioned the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, asking that Justice Oriji be removed from the case.
They cited an alleged relationship between the judge and the family of the FCT minister as the reason for their request.
The allegation concerning the judge’s relationship with the family has not been independently established in the supplied report.
Meanwhile, the claimants want the EFCC to investigate the alleged financial transaction and determine whether any criminal offence was committed.
The outcome of the civil proceedings and any investigation by the anti-graft agency could provide further clarity on the disputed land deal.
