Toyin Abraham has finally addressed the widely discussed incident involving fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, saying she has chosen not to dwell on the situation because everyone is entitled to their own actions and reactions.
The award-winning actress made the remarks during a recent appearance on The Morayo Show, where she was asked about the viral moment from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, a film hosted by Iyabo Ojo.
The incident, which took place in March 2026, sparked heated conversations online after a video appeared to show Funke Akindele walking past Abraham without acknowledging her greeting.

Rather than reigniting the controversy, Toyin Abraham made it clear that she has moved on.
“First and foremost, I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t like talking about my past. But everybody has rights to their reactions and actions, so it’s okay,” she said.
The viral moment came months after a public disagreement between both actresses. In December 2025, Abraham alleged that members of Akindele’s camp worked against her film, Oversabi Aunty, while it was competing in cinemas with Akindele’s Behind The Scenes.
She claimed her movie received unfavourable screening schedules and that false narratives about its box office performance were deliberately circulated.
Following the premiere incident, Abraham revealed that she had unfollowed Akindele on social media and stated at the time that she would no longer greet her. Neither actress has publicly confirmed any reconciliation since then.
Toyin Abraham Says She No Longer Chases Industry Relationships
Beyond the discussion surrounding Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham reflected on her career journey and how her outlook has changed over the years.
According to the actress, she has reached a stage in her career where she no longer feels pressured to seek validation or force relationships within the entertainment industry. She attributed her confidence to years of consistency, hard work, and what she described as God’s favour.
“I can’t kiss anybody’s a*s anymore because God has blessed me with a platform where I can decide who I want to work with,” she said.
Abraham explained that her statement should not be mistaken for arrogance. Instead, she described it as gratitude for the opportunities she has earned and a decision to protect her self-worth by avoiding unhealthy professional relationships.
She added that she now focuses on working with people who align with her values instead of pursuing acceptance at all costs.
Actress Opens Up About Marriage and Husband’s Support
The actress also gave fans a glimpse into her marriage with fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, revealing that while her husband may not be naturally romantic, he has remained one of her strongest supporters.
“My husband is not romantic. But he allows me to be the best version of myself. He allows me to do what brings my acting career to life,” she said.
According to Toyin Abraham, the understanding they have built over the years has helped them maintain a strong relationship despite the demands of working in Nollywood.
She also dismissed suggestions that her husband feels uncomfortable with her working alongside male actors, noting that trust has always been a foundation of their marriage.
“Nah. Most of my colleagues’ wives are comfortable with me. I can do every other thing, but ‘iranu’ is not one of them,” she said.
