Award-winning Afrobeats singer Davido has disclosed that maintaining his status as one of Africa’s biggest music stars comes at a significant cost, revealing that his monthly personal expenses run into hundreds of millions of naira.
The singer made the revelation during a recent livestream with streamer Davrel, where he spoke candidly about the financial responsibilities that come with being a global celebrity.
Davido reveals his monthly expenses
Speaking during the livestream, Davido said he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 every month, which is estimated to be around ₦300 million to ₦400 million, depending on the prevailing exchange rate.
According to the singer, the amount only covers his personal lifestyle and does not account for the expenses of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, or other members of his household.
He said:
“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household.”
The music star further clarified that the figure does not include major luxury purchases.
“It also doesn’t include expenses for the purchase of luxury cars and jewellery.”
Celebrity lifestyle comes with a high price
Davido’s comments offer fans a glimpse into the financial realities of life as an internationally recognised entertainer.
Beyond chart-topping music and sold-out concerts, the singer suggested that maintaining his lifestyle requires a substantial monthly budget.
