APC Releases Primary Election Timetable For Constituencies In Delta, Kogi, Others
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its primary election timetable for four recently restored constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, as well as other constituencies where bye-elections will be held.
The development followed the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore the State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi.
INEC had fixed August 21 to 25, 2026 for political parties to conduct primaries for candidates seeking to contest the restored seats.
The commission said the decision followed court judgments directing the restoration of the additional constituencies.
APC Lists Constituencies For Primary Elections
Following the INEC decision, the APC listed the constituencies where its primary elections will take place.
In Delta State, the affected constituencies are:
- Abraka State Constituency
- Isoko North II State Constituency
- Ughelli South II State Constituency
- Udu State Constituency
In Kogi State, the primary will be held for Yagba West II State Constituency.
The APC timetable also covers the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State.
Other constituencies listed are Disina State Constituency and Sakwa State Constituency in Bauchi State, as well as Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State.
INEC Sets September 19 For Elections
INEC said the primary elections coincide with the period scheduled for party primaries for several upcoming bye-elections.
The affected constituencies include Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe, Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi, Udu State Constituency in Delta, and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano.

The commission has fixed September 19, 2026, for elections into the affected constituencies.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, said the restoration followed court judgments.
APC Sets Candidate Form Fees
The APC also announced the fees for aspirants seeking its tickets for the various constituencies.
House of Assembly aspirants are required to pay N1 million for the expression of interest form and N5 million for the nomination form.
For the House of Representatives, aspirants will pay N1 million for the expression of interest form and N9 million for the nomination form.
The party also approved a 50 per cent discount on nomination forms for female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities.
However, aspirants in these categories must still pay the standard N1 million expression of interest fee.
The APC’s primary election process began on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and is expected to run until Monday, August 24, 2026.
