Barcelona Prepare Third Bid for Rodri as Man City Talks Continue
Barcelona are preparing a third bid for Manchester City midfielder Rodri as negotiations between the two clubs continue.
The Catalan club have already seen two offers rejected. Their proposals of €50 million and €60 million failed to convince Manchester City to sell the Spain international.
Barcelona, however, remain optimistic about reaching an agreement.
Barcelona prepare third Rodri offer
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that Barcelona are preparing another proposal for Rodri.
The first two bids were reportedly worth €50 million and €60 million. Manchester City are understood to be seeking around €80 million for the midfielder.
The latest negotiations could therefore lead to a compromise between Barcelona’s €60 million offer and City’s reported €80 million valuation.
Man City and Barcelona continue talks
Direct talks between Barcelona and Manchester City are expected to continue. Barcelona have not abandoned their pursuit of Rodri despite the rejection of their previous offers.
The Spanish club are reportedly confident that further negotiations could produce an agreement. The next proposal is expected to reflect the gap between the two clubs’ current positions.
Rodri remains Barcelona’s target
Rodri has emerged as a major target for Barcelona as the club continues to strengthen its midfield options. The Spain international has established himself as one of the leading midfielders in European football. His experience at the highest level also makes him an attractive option for Barcelona.
However, his importance to Manchester City means the English club are unlikely to accept a significantly reduced fee.
Third bid could be decisive
Barcelona’s next proposal could determine whether negotiations move closer to an agreement. The club have already increased their offer from €50 million to €60 million.

Manchester City’s reported €80 million valuation remains the major obstacle. A figure somewhere between the two positions could therefore become the basis for further talks.
For now, Barcelona remain determined to continue negotiations rather than walk away from the deal.
Barcelona remain optimistic over Rodri transfer
Barcelona believe there is still a possibility of completing the Rodri transfer.
The two clubs are expected to remain in contact as they attempt to resolve the difference in their valuations. The coming days could prove important for the midfielder’s future. If Barcelona submit a third bid close to Manchester City’s asking price, negotiations could enter a decisive stage.
For now, Rodri’s potential move to Barcelona remains dependent on the clubs reaching an agreement over the transfer fee.
