Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Receives Over 500 Offers of Medical Help
Nollywood veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has received more than 500 offers of medical, spiritual and other forms of assistance as he continues treatment for stage-four cancer.
The development was disclosed by his close friend and fellow actor, Yinka Quadri, who thanked Nigerians, colleagues and well-wishers for their support.
Quadri said hundreds of people have contacted Ogogo’s family with offers and suggestions aimed at supporting the actor’s treatment.
However, the large number of offers has created a challenge for the family as they consider which options can be pursued without disrupting his ongoing hospital care.
Yinka Quadri appreciates support for Ogogo
In a statement shared on Instagram, Quadri said the family had received offers from more than 300 people, with the number potentially exceeding 500.
He explained that the main challenge was determining how to access the various forms of assistance while Ogogo remains under medical supervision.
Quadri stressed that the family’s inability to move the actor from his current hospital to different facilities or individuals should not be viewed as a rejection of the offers.
He expressed gratitude to everyone who had offered medical or spiritual support and appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for the veteran actor.
The actor’s condition has attracted widespread concern among fans, colleagues and members of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Ogogo continues treatment amid health concerns
The latest development comes as Ogogo’s family and associates continue efforts to secure specialised medical care for the actor.
Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya recently disclosed that Ogogo had been admitted to an operating theatre following efforts to obtain specialist medical attention.
Adesanya said Senator Solomon Adeola, who represents Ogun West in the National Assembly, had contacted cancer specialists to support the actor’s treatment.

Ogogo’s daughters previously revealed that the family had recently learnt that the actor was battling cancer.
His daughter, Kira, said the disease was affecting his abdomen and that some medical facilities had told the family they could no longer continue with chemotherapy.
She subsequently appealed for recommendations on other treatment options.
Another daughter, Lima, said Senator Adeola had pledged continued financial support for her father’s medical expenses.
She also disclosed that Ogogo was not medically fit to travel abroad for treatment.

Several of Ogogo’s colleagues have joined calls for prayers and support as he undergoes treatment.
Among them are actors Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola and Bimbo Oshin, who have expressed concern about the veteran actor’s health.
Quadri said the number of people offering assistance showed the depth of affection for Ogogo.
He thanked Nigerians and supporters around the world for their concern, prayers and willingness to help the actor.
Ogogo’s health draws widespread support
Ogogo is regarded as one of the veteran figures in the Nigerian film industry, particularly for his contributions to Yoruba-language cinema.
His health challenges have prompted an outpouring of support from fans, fellow actors and well-wishers.

For now, the family remains focused on his care and recovery while considering available options for further specialised treatment.
