Plateau Killings: Police Beef Up Security, Vow to Arrest Attackers
The Plateau State Police Command has strengthened security in Bin’per community, Bwoi-Ruf District of Mangu Local Government Area.
The move followed a deadly attack on the community in the early hours of Tuesday.
Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Ayodeji Faniyan, disclosed this during an on-the-spot assessment of the area.
Faniyan visited the community and met with traditional council elders, the Mangu Local Government chairman and residents.
He vowed that the attackers would be identified, arrested and prosecuted.
The police commissioner said the command would use all constitutional means available to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The Command will do everything within its constitutional powers to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible,” Faniyan said.
The commissioner assured residents that security had been increased in Bin’per and surrounding communities.
He said the measures were aimed at preventing another attack and restoring confidence among residents.
Faniyan also appealed to residents to provide accurate and timely information to the police.
He said such information could assist investigations and help security agencies identify the attackers.
Police warn against jungle justice
The police commissioner urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while investigations continue.
He also warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.
Faniyan said jungle justice could worsen tensions and undermine efforts to bring the attackers to justice.
The Plateau State Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
The command also urged members of the public to promptly report credible information to security agencies.
Security agencies, he said, would continue efforts to strengthen security in Bin’per and neighbouring communities.
