Sheggz confirms breakup with Bella, denies cheating and abuse allegations

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, has confirmed his breakup with fellow reality TV star Bella Okagbue.

Sheggz said their relationship ended in January 2026. He also denied allegations that he cheated on or abused Bella during their relationship.

The reality TV star made the disclosure in a statement shared on social media early Wednesday. He said he had avoided discussing the relationship publicly out of respect for his family.

However, Sheggz said he decided to speak after claims emerged that could damage his reputation. He maintained that he had never cheated on Bella.

Sheggz also rejected allegations of abuse. He described himself as a person who values family, friendship, integrity and faith.

“I am not an abuser,” he wrote.

He said he had remained single since the relationship ended in January. According to him, both parties tried to reconcile after the breakup.

Sheggz said he eventually decided against continuing the relationship. He cited concerns about trust and respect as factors in his decision.

He also revealed that 2025 was a difficult period for him. The former BBNaija housemate said he spent considerable time in and out of hospital.

Sheggz said he returned to Nigeria in October 2025 after treatment and recovery in England. He claimed that he later became aware of information that raised questions about trust in the relationship.

According to him, marriage should be built on trust, honesty, respect and communication. He said he had genuinely wanted the relationship to succeed.

Sheggz revealed that he had even bought a ring. He said the purchase reflected his belief in a future with Bella.

Despite the breakup, Sheggz said he did not want the matter to become a public dispute. He appealed for both families to move forward peacefully.

“I have no desire for hostility or public back-and-forth,” he said.

Sheggz also wished Bella well. He said he hoped both parties could eventually move on with dignity and grace.

The former BBNaija housemates had been one of the popular couples to emerge from the reality TV show. Their relationship attracted significant attention from fans during and after their time on the show.
