Nigerian singer and songwriter Yedika has been selected as the latest artist to feature in Apple Music’s Up Next programme in Nigeria, giving the rising musician a fresh platform to reach a wider global audience.
Apple Music announced the selection on Thursday, November 5, 2026, recognising Yedika as one of the emerging talents to watch in the Nigerian music industry.
Born in Kano and raised in Lagos, Yedika draws inspiration from his multicultural background. His music blends Afrobeats with Afro-fusion, creating a sound influenced by his upbringing and personal experiences.
The singer began attracting wider attention with his breakout single, Believe, which has surpassed five million streams across digital streaming platforms.
Reacting to his selection, Yedika described the recognition as a major milestone, especially as he only began releasing music in 2026.
“I only started putting out music this year, and the love and support from my fans has been unreal. I’m seeing my music everywhere, so to be chosen by a global brand like Apple Music for Up Next Nigeria is a dream come true,” he said.
The singer also thanked Apple Music and his supporters for believing in his music, adding that fans should expect more releases and bigger moments in the coming year.
Yedika builds momentum with debut EP, Motion
Signed to Horme Music, Yedika has entered a new phase of his career with the release of his debut EP, Motion.
The project follows the success of Believe and offers a wider look at his developing musical identity. His growing catalogue also includes songs such as Compare, Celebe and Pepeneda.
According to the announcement, Motion has surpassed seven million streams across digital streaming platforms and secured placements on four Apple Music editorial playlists.
