England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, extending his stay at the German club until 2029.
The 33-year-old striker has committed his future to the Bundesliga champions after entering the final year of his previous four-year deal, which he signed following his £86 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
Kane has enjoyed an impressive spell in Germany, establishing himself as one of Bayern’s most important players. He scored a club-record 61 goals in 51 appearances last season as the team secured a league and cup double.
Speaking after the contract extension, Kane said he was happy with life at Bayern and looked forward to winning more trophies with the club.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said, adding that his family was also happy in Munich.
Bayern Munich Chiefs Welcome Kane’s Contract Extension
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer described Kane’s journey at the club as a special chapter in its history.
He praised the England captain’s contribution and said the striker had earned a special place in the hearts of Bayern supporters.
Club chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen also welcomed the agreement, describing it as positive news for the club, its supporters and the Bundesliga.
Dreesen highlighted Kane’s goals, influence and leadership since his arrival in 2023. He also noted that the striker’s development at Bayern had been crowned by his Ballon d’Or success.
Meanwhile, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said the extension would provide greater certainty for the club’s long-term planning.
Sporting director Christoph Freund also praised Kane’s qualities, describing him as a team player and leader whose contributions extend beyond scoring goals.
Kane Reportedly Set for More Than £400,000 Weekly
Reports indicate that Kane could earn more than £400,000 ($539,000) per week under his new contract, excluding bonuses.
The reported salary would place him among Europe’s highest-paid footballers, alongside leading earners such as Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.

Ballon d’Or Winner Continues Record-Breaking Career
Kane’s contract extension follows a remarkable season in which he scored 73 goals across all competitions, according to the source report, and won the Ballon d’Or.
His success made him the first Englishman in 25 years to claim football’s prestigious individual award.
The new agreement keeps the England captain at Bayern Munich until 2029, giving the club more time to build around one of the world’s leading strikers as it pursues further domestic and European honours.
