Galatasaray have reportedly turned down a €125 million offer for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, underlining the Turkish champions’ determination to keep hold of the Nigerian star ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to reports from Turkey, the Istanbul club rejected the proposal immediately and have also previously refused a €120 million bid from Atletico Madrid.
The decision sends a strong message to Europe’s top clubs that Galatasaray are not prepared to part ways with Osimhen unless their valuation is fully met.
Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all said to be monitoring the situation closely, but Galatasaray remain firm in their stance as interest in the 27-year-old continues to intensify.
The club believe Osimhen’s valuation is justified by his outstanding performances since arriving in Turkey. The former Napoli forward has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for Galatasaray, establishing himself as one of the most prolific strikers in European football.
This season alone, Osimhen has contributed 15 league goals and five assists in 22 matches. He also impressed in the UEFA Champions League with seven goals and three assists in 10 appearances before Galatasaray were eliminated by Liverpool in the round of 16.
Galatasaray’s resolve to keep the Nigerian has reportedly grown stronger due to the expected departure of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, whose contract is due to expire at the end of June.
Losing both Icardi and Osimhen in the same transfer window would significantly weaken the club’s attacking options as they aim to defend their Turkish Süper Lig title and compete more effectively in Europe next season.
In an effort to convince Victor Osimhen to stay, Galatasaray are said to be preparing a major symbolic gesture by offering him the captain’s armband and the famous No. 9 shirt currently worn by Icardi.
Club officials reportedly believe that such leadership responsibilities and iconic status may not be immediately available to the striker at clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea, where established dressing-room hierarchies already exist.
Osimhen has repeatedly spoken positively about his experience in Istanbul and has previously expressed a desire to remain with Galatasaray.

However, with several of Europe’s biggest clubs still interested, speculation over his future is expected to dominate headlines throughout the transfer window.
