Spanish media reports indicate that the 30-year-old accepted a significant reduction in salary in order to remain with Barcelona.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club said: “FC Barcelona and Andreas Christensen have reached an agreement for the extension of the Danish defender’s contract, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2028.”
