Olamide Mojigbotoluwa Ehinfun-Adekunle has emerged as Nigeria’s youngest female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), earning the prestigious legal rank at the age of 40.
She was among 68 legal practitioners elevated to the rank by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, on October 12, 2026, during the opening of the 2026/2027 legal year. Four women were included in the latest group of appointees.
Born on June 25, 1986, in Kaduna State, Ehinfun-Adekunle is originally from Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State. Her journey into the legal profession began at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she studied law from 2003 to 2009 and obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree.
She later attended the Nigerian Law School between 2009 and 2010 before proceeding to the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. There, she earned a Master of Laws degree in International Trade Law between 2011 and 2012.
Ehinfun-Adekunle is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the United Kingdom, adding to her professional qualifications in legal practice and dispute resolution.

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee approved her elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on July 23, 2026. She was formally sworn in alongside 67 other legal practitioners in October.
The SAN title is one of the highest professional honours available to legal practitioners in Nigeria. It recognises distinguished service and achievement in the legal profession.
Childhood interest shaped her journey
Ehinfun-Adekunle’s interest in law reportedly began during her childhood. Her parents described her as talkative, a trait that also appeared in her primary school reports.
Stories from her father about political developments in the old Western Region, as well as the legal career of Chief Rotimi Williams, popularly known as “Timi the Law,” helped nurture her interest in the profession.
Several prominent legal figures have also influenced her career. They include Aare Afe Babalola, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, Kehinde Ogunwumiju and Pastor R. A. Ogunwole.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ehinfun-Adekunle has raised concerns about challenges facing Nigeria’s justice system.
In particular, she has highlighted delays in the administration of justice and the financial pressure prolonged court cases place on individuals and businesses.
Her elevation to the SAN rank marks a significant milestone in her legal career and adds her name to the growing number of women attaining senior positions in Nigeria’s legal profession.
