Blessing CEO Faces Ongoing EFCC Prosecution
The development comes weeks after Blessing CEO was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos over allegations involving a N36 million property transaction.
According to details presented in court, the EFCC accused the social media personality of collecting N36 million from a woman identified as Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye in connection with a property lease arrangement in Lekki, Lagos.
Prosecutors alleged that the funds were obtained under the representation that they were meant for the lease of a six-bedroom detached duplex located in the Lekki area.
During court proceedings, counsel representing Blessing CEO reportedly informed the court that she had already refunded N24 million of the amount in question. The defence further stated that efforts were underway to settle the outstanding balance.
Her lawyer requested a brief adjournment to facilitate discussions between both parties, arguing that a settlement could potentially resolve the matter.
However, the prosecution maintained that the case extended beyond a private dispute, emphasizing that the Federal Government remained the complainant in the criminal proceedings.
The court subsequently ruled that any private settlement would not automatically halt the legal process already before it.
