A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted bail to popular social media personality Blessing CEO in the sum of N10 million as she faces trial over an alleged N36 million fraud case.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu delivered the ruling on Tuesday during proceedings in the case involving the influencer, whose real name is Blessing Nkiruka Okoro. The court also ordered that she provide two sureties as part of the bail requirements.
Blessing CEO appeared before the court dressed in a long black gown and black trousers as arguments were presented by both the defence and prosecution regarding her custody status pending the fulfilment of her bail conditions.
Her lawyer, Nneka Nkama, urged the court to allow her client to continue enjoying the administrative bail previously granted while remaining in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until the conditions were perfected.
However, EFCC counsel Suleiman Suleiman opposed the request, informing the court that the commission lacked adequate space to accommodate the defendant.
Following submissions from both parties, the judge ordered that Blessing CEO be remanded in a correctional facility until all bail conditions are met. The matter was subsequently adjourned to June 22, 2026, for the continuation of trial proceedings.
Defence Says Settlement Efforts Are Ongoing
Speaking after the court session, defence counsel Nneka Nkama said her client was in good condition and that efforts were underway to satisfy the bail requirements as quickly as possible.
According to the lawyer, discussions with the complainant have reportedly led to a settlement agreement. She stated that the complainant had indicated a willingness to withdraw her complaint after receiving repayment.
“We have resolved the matter with the nominal complainant, and she has promised to withdraw the complaint,” the lawyer said.
However, she acknowledged that because the EFCC is prosecuting the case, it remains uncertain whether the anti-graft agency will discontinue the charges.
The social media influencer is currently standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretences and stealing. Prosecutors allege that the offences involve N36 million.
How the Alleged Fraud Case Began
The case stems from allegations that Blessing CEO collected N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye in July 2024 under the claim that she would secure a six-bedroom duplex in the upscale Lekki area of Lagos.
At her arraignment last month, she pleaded not guilty to both charges.
During earlier proceedings, her legal team informed the court that she had already refunded N24 million to the complainant and requested additional time to settle the outstanding balance.
Her lawyer argued that the complainant had indicated she would ask the EFCC to drop the case once the full amount was repaid.
The fraud case has attracted significant public attention due to separate controversies involving Blessing CEO, including claims she previously made about being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

The influencer reportedly received about N13 million in donations after appealing for financial assistance for treatment. The claim later generated widespread debate online, with some Nigerians demanding proof of the diagnosis while others expressed sympathy.
In a viral interview with internet personality Egungun of Lagos, Blessing CEO later stated that a misunderstanding led her to believe she had stage 4 cancer.
With her trial set to resume later this month, attention will remain focused on whether the ongoing settlement efforts will influence the direction of the case and the EFCC’s next move.
