Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has shared the touching story behind one of the most memorable financial decisions of his life, revealing that he gifted his wife the largest cheque he has ever received, valued at ₦100 million.
The celebrated actor made the revelation while speaking during an appearance on the Morayo Show, where he reflected on love, marriage and how romance evolves with age.

Richard Mofe-Damijo Explains Why He Handed Over ₦100 Million
During the interview, Richard Mofe-Damijo recalled the moment he received the biggest payment of his career and immediately decided that the money belonged in his wife’s hands.
He said:
“The first time I had the biggest cheque I’ve ever had in my life, I had like a ₦100 million cheque. So I said, ‘Give it to my wife.’ When she got it, she said, ‘You want me to keep it for your children?’ So I said, ‘No, keep it for yourself.’”
The actor explained that the decision was deliberate because he believed his wife deserved the gift. He added that what people consider romantic naturally changes with time, noting that many women now appreciate practical gestures that offer lasting value.

While discussing his marriage, Richard Mofe-Damijo described himself as someone who still believes deeply in romance despite advancing in age.
