The former APC chieftain has pledged loyalty to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and plans to seek the Delta Central Senatorial seat.
Speaking on his political future, Omo-Agege stated that his allegiance now lies completely with the NDC, emphasizing that party loyalty has always guided his political decisions.
Responding to questions about his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 election, the former deputy senate president gave a direct answer.
“Who is my presidential candidate in 2027? Of course it’s Peter Obi.”
The declaration is expected to generate fresh discussions within Nigeria’s political landscape as parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the next election cycle.
According to Omo-Agege, his commitment to the NDC is unwavering, describing himself as a politician who remains loyal to whichever platform he belongs.
“I’m a political animal. Very, very loyal political animal. Wherever I am, I show and display my loyalty.”
Political observers believe the endorsement could strengthen conversations around potential alliances and realignments as the race toward 2027 gradually gains momentum.
Past support for previous administrations
The former deputy senate president also reflected on his years in the APC, noting that he consistently supported the administrations led by former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while he remained a member of the ruling party.
He stressed that his political history demonstrates a pattern of loyalty to the governments and political structures he serves under.
“When I was in APC, I gave my all… I supported the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari 100 percent.”
Despite acknowledging some reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, Omo-Agege explained that disagreements within the APC contributed to his decision to leave the party.
He argued that the party had gradually distanced itself from him and many of his supporters in Delta State, making it difficult to continue pursuing his political ambitions under its platform.

With political activities expected to intensify in the coming months, Omo-Agege’s endorsement of Peter Obi adds another dimension to the evolving conversations surrounding Nigeria’s next presidential contest.
