Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, marking the end of a remarkable nine-year journey filled with health challenges, hope, and resilience.
The actress shared the joyful news with fans on June 24, a date that also marked her 36th birthday, making the celebration even more meaningful.
The actress and her husband, Abasi Ene-Obong, are now first-time parents after years of navigating fertility concerns linked to uterine fibroids.
The announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who had followed her story over the years.
Sharing photos of herself holding her newborn son, Ini Dima-Okojie reflected on her new chapter as a mother in an emotional Instagram post.
“There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one,” she wrote.
She continued:
“These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and rewarding of my life.”

The arrival of her son represents a deeply personal milestone for the actress, who has never hidden her struggles with fibroids. Her openness has inspired many women to seek medical advice and pay closer attention to their reproductive health.
Her journey began in 2017 when she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. At the time, she recalled being advised by a gynaecologist that she could leave the fibroids untreated if they were not causing symptoms, while also suggesting she should get married as soon as possible.
However, by 2020, the fibroids had grown significantly, leading another doctor to recommend surgery. Plans for the procedure were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she experimented with dietary changes, exercise, and herbal remedies in an effort to manage the condition.
In November 2020, Ini Dima-Okojie eventually underwent a successful myomectomy to remove the fibroids. While the surgery initially brought relief, she later revealed in July 2024 that the fibroids had returned.
Rather than opting for another operation, she chose a holistic approach to managing her health.
She eliminated red meat, dairy products, processed foods, refined sugar, and white carbohydrates from her diet while documenting her progress publicly. Months later, she announced that follow-up ultrasound results showed the fibroids had begun shrinking.
Earlier this year, the actress delighted fans once again by announcing she was expecting her first child. Calling the pregnancy a miracle, she shared an emotional message that included the Bible verse Jeremiah 1:5.
“I get to be a mother,” she wrote while describing the pregnancy as “a miracle.”
Throughout her journey, Ini Dima-Okojie has consistently encouraged women to prioritise regular medical check-ups and take fibroids seriously.
She has previously pledged to sponsor fibroid scans for women facing similar health challenges, using her platform to raise awareness about a condition that affects millions worldwide.
