Lere Olayinka Calls on DSS, Police to Investigate Viral Video Allegedly Threatening Christians
Media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lere Olayinka, has urged the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force to investigate a viral video allegedly showing members of an Islamic security group making threats against Christians in parts of Nigeria.
The footage reportedly features members of the First Aid Group (F.A.G.) of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) during a training exercise.
Olayinka Raises Alarm Over Alleged Threats
According to Olayinka, a translation of remarks made by the drill leader suggests that the speaker called for the provision of AK-47 rifles to attack people he described as “infidels” in Enugu State and Jos, Plateau State.
The reported remarks allegedly referred to opening fire on Christians during Sunday worship in Enugu before carrying out further attacks in Jos.

Following the video’s circulation, Olayinka called on the DSS and police to investigate the footage, establish its authenticity and determine the circumstances surrounding the reported statements.
He also urged the security agencies to act promptly to prevent any potential threat to public safety and maintain peace in the affected communities.
Security Agencies Urged to Verify Footage
The video has raised concerns over the alleged statements and the possibility of violence against religious communities. However, the claims remain allegations, and the footage requires independent verification.
An investigation by the relevant authorities could help establish the context of the recording, identify those involved and determine whether any laws were violated.
As of the time of the report, the supplied source did not include an official response from the DSS, the Nigeria Police Force or JIBWIS regarding the video.
