The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has identified two suspected cases of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria’s North-East region.
The agency disclosed this in an official update on Saturday, November 1, 2026, saying samples had been collected from the isolated patients and sent to laboratories for testing.
The tests are expected to determine whether the suspected cases are confirmed Ebola infections.
According to the NCDC, rapid response teams have been deployed to the affected states to investigate the cases, trace contacts and implement containment measures to prevent possible community transmission.
NCDC Advises Nigerians to Maintain Calm
Following the development, the public health agency urged Nigerians to remain calm while health officials continue their investigations.
It also advised the public to observe proper hygiene, avoid contact with bushmeat and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms associated with Ebola.
