According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Guobadia was indicted on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. He faces two counts of allegedly helping to prepare and file false federal tax returns.
Prosecutors Allege False Tax Returns
Federal prosecutors allege that Guobadia provided inaccurate financial information when filing his tax returns in 2021.
In March 2021, he reportedly declared zero taxable income despite allegedly knowing that his actual earnings were higher. During the same period, his company, Simcol Petroleum Limited, recorded more than $45 million in gross sales.
Prosecutors also questioned a tax filing submitted in July 2021. In that return, Guobadia allegedly reported taxable income of $58,231, while his company recorded nearly $31 million in gross sales.
