Singer D4vd faces murder

US authorities have presented serious claims against singer D4vd. They allege he bought tools online to dispose of a teenage girl’s body after her killing. Prosecutors shared these claims in a recent court filing. The document describes what they believe was a deliberate effort to hide evidence after the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

According to prosecutors, the artist, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to several charges. However, his legal team insists he will fight the case strongly. They also maintain that the evidence will show he did not cause the teen’s death. As a result, the case has drawn wide public attention.

Court Filing Reveals Alleged

The court document states that Burke stabbed the teenager several times at his home. After that, prosecutors say he took further steps. They claim that in the days that followed, he made multiple online purchases using a false identity. These items reportedly included chainsaws, a shovel, a body bag, and an inflatable pool. Investigators believe he intended to use these items to dispose of the remains and hide the crime.

In addition, investigators pointed to text messages exchanged before the alleged killing. They claim the teenager threatened to expose details of their relationship. Prosecutors described the relationship as inappropriate and unlawful. Because of this, tensions grew on 22 April 2025. Then, according to the filing, the girl was killed the next day.

Furthermore, prosecutors say Burke arranged a ride for the teen to his home. After that, he sent follow up messages asking about her location. They believe he did this to create an alibi. Later on, surveillance footage showed that he was the last person seen driving the vehicle where the body was found.

Months later, authorities discovered the remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. They found the body in the front trunk of a Tesla linked to Burke. Officials say the body stayed there for a long time before they found it in September 2025. Earlier that year, the teen had already been reported missing. This discovery raised more concerns about the case.

During a recent court appearance in Los Angeles, singer  D4vd appeared in custody. He wore a jail uniform and restraints. He spoke briefly and agreed to delay his preliminary hearing until late May. Meanwhile, his lawyers tried to stop the release of the detailed court filing. They argued that wide media coverage could affect his right to a fair trial.

However, Judge Charlaine Olmedo allowed the document to become public. Still, the court kept some evidence sealed. As a result, another court session will take place next month as the case continues.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, has filed seven charges against Burke. These charges include murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and mutilation of remains. Because of the nature of these claims and Burke’s public profile, the case has attracted strong public interest.

Before his arrest, D4vd had gained attention through viral music releases. He was also on tour when authorities made the discovery. Soon after, his tour was cancelled. Since then, he has stayed away from public appearances.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family has shared their grief. They described their loss as painful and called for justice. As the legal process moves forward, the case continues to raise serious concerns about abuse, violence, and accountability.
