The Delta State Police Command has arrested Ifeanyi Ogbonna, a well-known content creator popularly called Odogwu of Asaba, in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old nursing student, Favour Agbro, whose death has sparked widespread reactions on social media.
According to reports, the 40-year-old content creator allegedly invited the young woman to Asaba with the promise of mentoring her in content creation.

However, police allege that after arriving, she was lured to his hotel room, where she was allegedly assaulted.
Police Reveal Details of the Alleged Incident
Confirming the arrest in a post shared on his X account, the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, said the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue.
“The Delta State Police Command has arrested a popular content creator, one Ifeanyi Ogbonna, male, aged 40, also popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl,” Edafe stated.
He further alleged that the suspect invited the victim to Asaba under the pretext of teaching her content creation before taking her to a hotel room.
“The suspect invited the victim to Asaba under the guise of teaching her content creation, lured her to his hotel room, and allegedly tortured and raped her.
The victim, who could not bear the agony, recorded a video of her meeting and then took insecticide; she died while seeking treatment,” he added.
The late Favour Agbro was said to have recorded a video recounting her experience before consuming the poisonous substance. She reportedly died while receiving medical attention.
Ifeanyi Ogbonna Appeals to Victim’s Family
Following his arrest, a video circulating online showed Ifeanyi Ogbonna in police custody making an emotional appeal to the deceased’s family.
In the clip, the content creator described the situation as a tragic mistake while expressing his willingness to make amends.

“This is a very terrible mistake. I’m ready to give everything,” he said while pleading with the victim’s family.
The incident has generated intense public attention, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased nursing student.
As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command has not announced any formal charges, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
