Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has received a major boost in her ongoing health battle after Abia State Governor Alex Otti approved the first phase of financial assistance towards her medical expenses.
The intervention comes after the actress publicly disclosed that she requires three life-saving surgeries valued at about ₦30 million.
The support for Ngozi Nwosu medical treatment was announced by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Justice Martins, popularly known as J Martins.
He shared the development on social media, expressing gratitude to Governor Otti for responding to the actress’ urgent medical needs.
Governor Otti Offers Financial Support
In his public statement, J Martins thanked the governor for approving part of the funds needed for the actress’ treatment.
He wrote, “His Excellency Alex Otti has just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress, Mrs Ngozi Nwosu, to approve the first part of our medical bills… On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, My leader, Ndewo sir.”
Although the governor’s intervention has brought hope to the actress and her supporters, J Martins stressed that more financial assistance is still required to complete the treatment process.
He appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the veteran actress, saying, “While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible you can.”
The financial assistance marks an important step in Ngozi Nwosu medical treatment, as she prepares for the surgeries recommended by her doctors.
Actress Previously Revealed Health Struggles
The latest development follows an emotional appeal made by Ngozi Nwosu after she revealed she had spent three weeks in hospital battling a serious medical condition.
The actress shared a photograph from her hospital bed and admitted that speaking publicly about her health was not an easy decision.
However, she explained that she needed urgent help because of the high cost of the surgeries required to save her life.
