Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has broken his silence following the circulation of a viral video that showed him sitting by a roadside in Abuja, a clip that prompted widespread concern and speculation about his health.
The video, reportedly recorded in the Wuse 2 area of Nigeria’s capital city, spread rapidly across social media platforms, with many fans questioning whether the actor was facing personal or health-related challenges.

However, in a newly shared video, Hanks Anuku appeared calm as he addressed the growing attention surrounding the footage. Speaking to a man who said he met him on Tuesday, the actor dismissed the rumours and made it clear that he was doing well.
“Y’all haven’t seen anything yet. Y’all should face your government and leave me the hell alone. If you don’t have a better thing to do, go do something; I’m good,” he said.
Hanks Anuku Dismisses Public Speculation
The actor’s response comes after several days of online discussions fueled by the roadside video, with many Nigerians expressing concern over his condition.
Social media users reacted differently to the clip, with some calling for support while others questioned whether the footage was recent.
The video was first shared by an eyewitness identified on X as Anthony Ehilebo, who claimed he personally recorded the actor in Abuja. According to him, the footage was not taken on a movie set.
“Hanks Anuku… sighted on the streets of Abuja.. Mental health Coverage in Nigeria is shiit,” he wrote while sharing the video.
As the clip gained traction, another social media user suggested it was an old recording that had previously circulated online.
“Pls ppl should stop posting things like this for engagements, likes n views, this was the same video someone posted few yrs ago wen dey said dey saw him in Edo state Benin city n he was on set dat day.”
Ehilebo rejected that claim, insisting the footage was recent.
“There was no set.. I saw him and made this video myself.. He was pissed.. and did not look good.. He needs help.. mental help assistance…”
When another user asked if the actor was filming a movie, he responded:
“No it is not.. I made this video myself.”
Eyewitness Raises Further Concern
In another update, the eyewitness claimed he later saw Hanks Anuku lying on a road in Abuja and appealed for assistance.
“Why is Hanks Anuku laying on the road in Wuse 2… is there any help that can be rendered. or does he have to die too? It’s 5.47pm in front of Barkangizo.”
Despite the concerns expressed online, the veteran actor’s latest video presented a different picture, with Hanks Anuku insisting that he was fine and urging Nigerians to redirect their attention to issues affecting the country rather than focusing on him.
