Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has initiated legal proceedings against comedian and content creator Carter Efe, demanding ₦500 million in damages over allegations that they had a sexual relationship.
The legal dispute follows a heated exchange on social media involving Carter Efe, streamer Davrel, and the reality TV star.
Phyna confirmed during an Instagram Live session that both Carter Efe and Davrel had been served with legal documents over statements she described as damaging to her reputation.
How the dispute escalated
The controversy reportedly began after streamer Davrel alleged that Carter Efe had made derogatory remarks about Phyna. In response, the BBNaija winner confronted Davrel over an alleged unpaid debt, triggering a series of exchanges online.
The situation intensified when Davrel accused Phyna of making advances toward him and allegedly asking to be introduced to his father.
During a separate confrontation shared on social media, Carter Efe claimed that he had been intimate with the reality TV star.
Reacting to the allegation, Phyna questioned him directly, saying:
“Me and you fuck?”
Carter Efe responded:
“Yes. I will bring the whole evidence come outside.”
Phyna immediately warned both men that the matter would be handled legally, stating:
“Thank you very much. You and Davrel will hear from my lawyer.”
Phyna announces lawsuit and apologises to fans
Speaking during an Instagram Live broadcast on Thursday night, Phyna confirmed that legal action had officially commenced, revealing that Carter Efe and Davrel had received legal notices through their email addresses and WhatsApp.
She also apologised to her supporters, admitting that her reactions to online controversies had often overshadowed the actions that led to them.
“Hi people, I’m making this live to address something very important, one of which is to first apologise to my fans.
“I know a lot of people say I’ve lost my self-respect. I have put myself down so much, and I think I finally realised that. Yes, you are saying the truth.
And I’m using this medium to let everybody know that what has happened to me in the past couple of days has actually shaped me by force.”
The reality TV star said she could tolerate criticism on many issues but drew the line at allegations involving her personal and sexual life.
“There are two types of drags that I can’t stand. One is what everybody knows, and the other one is a sexual and man issue. I do not move that way.”
Reflecting on her experience with online streaming, Phyna admitted that adopting the style of other creators had exposed her to disrespect.
“Since I started streaming, I tried to stream the way everybody streams, but it has brought a lot of disrespect to me, and this one that happened recently has to be the last time I will be disrespected like that.”
She added that she had decided to rely on the legal system rather than social media arguments to address future disputes.
“This is the end of that Phyna because, at last, I’m finally learning how to use legal means because, at the end of the day, if I check it, I don’t really look for trouble.

Most times, it’s my own reactions that overshadow what was done to me, and it makes the whole thing seem like I am the one wrong.
“So, Carter Efe and Davrel, check your emails and WhatsApp. You’ve been served. Thank you.”
The lawsuit marks a significant turn in the dispute, with Phyna seeking ₦500 million in damages as the matter moves from social media exchanges to legal proceedings.
Neither Carter Efe nor Davrel has publicly released a formal response to the lawsuit at the time of filing this report.
