Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed several terrorists and recovered weapons and ammunition during separate operations in Zamfara and Kaduna states.
The military disclosed the development on Wednesday through the Military Information Officer for Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
According to Danja, troops from Sector 2 acted on credible intelligence about the movement of terrorists from the Fakai General Area towards Kwanar Jolof and Tashar Dole in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
The troops reportedly ambushed the terrorists at Kwanar Jolof and engaged them in a firefight.
Danja said several terrorists were neutralised during the encounter, while others fled the area in disarray.

“Troops subsequently pursued and neutralised the suspect,” Danja said.
A subsequent search of the bag reportedly uncovered 793 rounds of ammunition concealed inside gari.
The military said the vehicle and its driver were taken into custody for further investigation.

He assured that troops of Operation Fansan Yamma remained committed to the fight against terrorism and efforts to restore lasting peace in affected communities.
